A condition called neurofibromatosis type 2 or NF2 causes growth of tumors in the nervous system. These are not cancerous but affects the nerve function. The most common is the one affecting the auditory nerves. It can be removed by surgery, but there is a risk of damaging the nerve. Now there is a drug that can treatments, reducing the tumors.
